The weather is not going to be ideal for Opening Day, but restaurants and bars downtown are making sure fans stay warm with tents and heaters. Bottom line: we live in Michigan.

"I don't think weather is a factor. For people that live in Michigan, we all know what happens here," says P.J. Thomas, The Town Pump Tavern general manager.

"There's nothing you can do about the weather. It's Detroit so we're going to try to make it as warm and as comfortable and as dry as we can," says Chris Chelios, owner of Cheli's.

The game will go on and so will the partying. You can stay inside at several bars or venture outdoors. But either way you'll have something over your head and somewhere to stay warm.

"It's going to be packed regardless of if there's a snow storm, a rainstorm or what have you," says Thomas.

You can also stay warm by layering up with Tigers gear.

"Thermal, track jacket, hoodie, hat wear. They need to definitely layer it up," says Alexis Davis, The D Shop.

The final message: stay warm and Go Tigers!
