Detroit police are searching for a carjacking suspect that is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Once they spotted the stolen car this afternoon, the driver took off and crashed in southwest Detroit.

Then, he bailed and the cops are still trying to track him down.

It all started when Detroit Police Captain Russell Solano spotted a Toyota that was taken in a carjacking early Tuesday morning.

It matched the description and license plate as well, but the driver took off.

Police believe the guy who crashed that Toyota and took off was involved in stealing it early Tuesday at Proctor and Panama.

Investigators say a man in his 20s met up with two young women he'd met online. Once they met, the man was pistol whipped and attacked by 3 to 5 men.

His car was stolen and one of the attackers eve fired a gun, but no one was hit.

Police believe those young women may have lured that man to the location.

Investigators are still searching for a suspect, and are asking neighbors in the community to be careful.
