(WXYZ) — Cedar Point announced "sneak peek" events ahead of its 150th anniversary season.

The season will kick off with Just for Fun Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, May 2 and 3 from 12 to 6 p.m. The weekend is for reliving Cedar Point's past when the park was free and each attraction had its own ticket price.

Guests are invited to attend, but must RSVP and reserve a free ticket online at the Cedar Point website. The RSVP tickets include parking and non-rider admission. Those who would like unlimited access to rides must purchase a wristband online for $20.20 at the same time as their RSVP ticket reservation. 2020 season passes are not valid.

The park will host the Sesquicentennial Gala in the Cedar Point Ballroom on Saturday night, May 2, from 8 p.m. to midnight.

The formal party will feature live music from the Bluewater Kings. Limited tickets for the black tie-optional event are $150 each and include admission, parking and a commemorative anniversary gift. Guests can purchase tickets beginning March 16.

All 2020 Platinum Passholders are invited to an exclusive Cedar Point event to experience select rides, attraction and new dining options during Platinum Passholder Anniversary Preview Nights, on May 6 & 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. The free event is for Platinum Passholders only; advanced RSVP ticket registration is required.

Passholders will also be among the first riders to enjoy the new Snake Expedition ride, along with 18 additional rides at the front of the park.
