The mother of Chelsea Bruck took the witness stand in the case against Daniel clay. He's accused of murdering the young woman two and a half years ago, after she attended a huge Halloween party in Monroe.

Chelsea vanished two and a half years ago, and her body was found 6 months later.  In court, the jury got a look at the wig Chelsea was wearing when she disappeared from that party.  Amanda Bruck said her daughter was proud of her costume and hoped to win a prize.

In court Mrs. Bruck was asked if Chelsea had any reason to rip her costume in certain areas. She replied, "no."

Also testifying on today (Tuesday morning): The host of that Halloween party, and a friend of Chelsea's.

Clay is charged with second degree murder. Investigators say he told police he accidentally killed Chelsea by choking her while they were having sex.

If Clay is convicted, he could spend the rest of his live in prison.
