A Michigan police officer is getting a lot of attention for pulling over an ice cream truck in Chesterfield Township.

Police say an officer saw a little girl pouting on the side of the road and decided to intervene. Officer Matt McPhillips was working overtime filling in on a few shifts, but that didn't stop him from helping the girl.

When he spotted Zain, he found out she had raced outside for ice cream, but just missed the ice cream truck.

So, McPhillips followed that truck and flagged it down so the girl could get her treat.

"He watched the ice cream truck driving away and turning the corner... We're really proud of him and it fits his character," said Chesterfield Township Police Sgt. Clinton Bowerson.
