MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — A 30-year-old Chicago woman has been arrested and charged with stabbing her cousin in the neck during an argument after leaving a party in Clinton Township on Aug. 24.

According to a release, Crystal Kelly left a party at the Le Chateau Mobile Park in Clinton Township at 2 a.m. with a group of her cousins. Two of the passengers in the vehicle started arguing, that's when Kelly stopped her car in the middle of Hayes Road, on the border of Clinton Township and Sterling Heights, and then stabbed her male cousin in the backseat in his neck twice.

Police say the fight continued in the street until the male cousin fell to the ground, that's when Kelly allegedly got back into the vehicle and drove off with the other passengers.

The injured cousin was left bleeding in the street until an ambulance came and took him to Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.

Police pursued the suspect and were taken on a brief chase, ending with police blocking the suspect in the parking lot of Sterling Heights High School.

“Thanks to the swift, concerted efforts by two of Macomb County’s finest agencies, Clinton Township and Sterling Heights, this dangerous suspect was apprehended before she could inflict any more harm,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith.

Kelly was arraigned and given a $1 million bond.
