If you need help getting to the polls on Primary Election Day and you live in Ferndale, you're in luck.

The City of Ferndale's City Clerk's Office is partnering with the Ferndale Parks and Recreation Department to offer curb-to-curb transportation to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

According to a release, the service is available to all Ferndale residents and business owners for the round-trip cost of $2. For senior citizens and people with disabilities, there is no charge.

“Our goal is to assist voters who may not have the means to get to the polls themselves,” said City Clerk Marne McGrath. “We’re trying the service with truncated hours that coincide with the community transit program’s regular schedule, however if we find the program to be successful we may extend the hours for future elections.”

Pickups are from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

To schedule a ride and for more information, contact Barb Turner in the Parks & Recreation Department at 248-914-2701 no later than the end of day on Friday, Nov. 2.
