Starting today, police will be out in greater numbers searching for drivers who are not buckled up.

The Click-It or Ticket campaign has begun.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says police continue their heavy enforcement campaigns because so many people continue to drive and ride around without following seat belt laws.

Michigan State Police along with all local departments will be out in greater numbers for the next two weeks looking for people who are not buckled up.

NHTSA says more than half the people who died in a car crash in 2015 were not wearing seat belts.

This campaign runs through Memorial Day weekend and ends June 5.
