MOUT PLEASANT, Mich. (WXYZ) — Jerry Reighard, Central Michigan University's head gymnastics coach, has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation, the athletics department announced Wednesday.

No details have been released on what sparked the investigation. The associate head coach for CMU gymnastics will "provide leadership for the program during coach Reighard's leave," according to the university's website.

Reighard, a Westland native, moved into his position as head coach in 1984.

According to CMU's website, he led the Chippewas to 15 regional appearances in the last 20 years, and was named the National Invitational Tournament Coach of the Year in both 1998 and in 2000.
