(WXYZ) — There have been several instances of first responders parading outside of hospitals to show their appreciation for health care workers.

There is another one planned for Monday evening around the 7 p.m. shift change, outside of Beaumont Hospital in Grosse Pointe.

And thanks to a newly formed nonprofit organization, many of the evening crews will get a free meal – and that order helps a local restaurant.

7 Action News reporter Syma Chowdhry shows us how Front Line Appreciation Group Metro Detroit (FLAG) is less than a month old but has already raised nearly $200,000 in funding.

For more information on FLAG, visit the organization's website here, or Facebook page here.
