(WXYZ) — The Detroit Health Department is partnering with the Kroger Co. and the Neighborhood Service Organization to provide free and no-cost flu vaccines to the uninsured and underinsured.

The vaccines are being made available through two drive-thru clinics that will be held in the parking lot behind the Neighborhood Service Organizations headquarters at 882 Oakman Blvd. in Detroit. They will be Tuesday, October 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The shots will be administered by a Kroger Health pharmacist of student pharmacists. They are available for adults and children age 7 or older. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Residents can remain in the vehicles while getting the vaccine. Anyone without a vehicle will also be accommodated. Masks or protective face coverings must be worn to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Appointments are recommended but are not required. Residents can book a time online. You should plan on arriving at your scheduled time and joining the line.
