DETROIT (WXYZ) — A Detroit firefighter was hurt early Friday morning battling a house fire in northeast Detroit. According to officials, the fire happened in the 15900 block of Bringard, which is between 8 Mile and State Fair off of Redmond St.
We're told the firefighter was on stairs going up to the second floor when the stairs collapsed. He fell all the way into the basement, hurting his shoulder.
The firefighter was taken to St. John's Hospital, and crews were able to extinguish the fire. The firefighter is expected to be OK.
