Detroit man charged after firing shots into occupied home on city's west side

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office has charged a Detroit man connected to a non-fatal shooting on the city's west side. 

On Dec. 5 around 2:00 a.m., Detroit police responded to a report of multiple shots fired in a Hazelwood neighborhood. 

At the scene, officers observed a 29-year-old Robert Davon McLendon in the 3240 block of Hazelwood running toward Wildemere. 

Police ordered McLendon to stand down and placed him into custody. Officers recovered a handgun and magazine in the area. 

It is alleged that McLendon shot into a home while three residents were inside. 

According to the Prosecutor's Office, McLendon is facing several charges including: intent to murder and carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent. 

He is expected to be arraigned Friday at 10:30 a.m.
