Detroit woman stabs man who broke into her home

A Detroit woman stabbed one of two men who broke into her home overnight with a gun. It happened at the corner of Bentler and Schoolcraft on the city's west side.

Every home on the street is abandoned except one, where Denise Law as in bed with her partner, Dave.

She said someone broke through her window just before 4:30 a.m. and the masked man and Dave got into a fight that carried throughout the house.

"I didn't hear anymore then I heard the guy go 'Where is she? Where'd she go, where she at?' while I was hiding in the closet," Law said.

While the man was letting in a second intruder, Denise called 911 from the closet, where she crawled with two injured legs.

When she couldn't hear anything, she ran out of the house to get help.

Law said Save was wandering around after getting hit in the head with a gun, but not before he grabbed a knife in the kitchen and stabbed one of the two would-be robbers.

Detroit police are investigating and keeping an eye on area hospitals.
