For years, Detroit residents have complained about high property taxes--and now, it looks like relief is on the way.

Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan is set to announce changes to assessed property values.

The city made similar changes last year to 2015 property assessments, reducing taxes from 5 percent up to 20 percent for some owners.

They issued re-appraisals of real estate values after impacts from the recession and the foreclosure crisis.

Last year, about half of all Detroit homeowners saw a little green back in their wallet after the changes.

Neighborhoods in the northeast and near-west sides are expected to see the largest benefits this year.
