Detroit mayoral candidates speak at event

(WXYZ) - In less than two weeks from today, Detroit residents will be heading to the polls to pick a new mayor.  Today, the two men that want the job pitched their qualifications to the business community.

Former DMC CEO and Wayne County's sheriff shared the stage at Cobo Center for a conversation about the city of Detroit.  On several topics, the two men sounded like they were in agreement with how to change the city of Detroit.

Both candidates were against merging the city of Detroit and Wayne County to form a regional government.  Both were against having an emergency manager, and both believe Detroit should maintain control of the Detroit Water and Sewage Department.

The one thing the two disagreed on was taking up residence at the mayor's residence, the Manoogian Mansion.
Napoleon said he plans to stay in his current home.  If elected, Duggan said he would move into the mansion,   because he's not looking to be a pretender.

Voters head to the polls November 5th.
