Detroit police ask for public's help identifying man in connection to early-morning carjacking

The Detroit Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying a man wanted in connection to the carjacking of a 24-year-old woman.

The carjacking took place on August 3 at 4:40 a.m. on the 24500 block of Grand River.

The woman was parking her silver, 2001 Impala at the location when the suspect approached her. He was armed with a gun and demanded her vehicle.

The suspect then left the location in the woman's Impala.

He is described as a black male, 5'4" with a course afro. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.
