Detroit police investigating 1 fatal, 7 non-fatal shootings overnight

The Detroit Police Department is investigating one deadly shooting and seven non-fatal shootings that happened between Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

The information provided is from preliminary investigations and are subject to change.

DOUBLE NON-FATAL SHOOTING – 19700 block of Stotter Street
Preliminary on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020 at approximately 3:55 a.m. in the 19700 block of Stotter Street, the victims (27, 22 males) were allegedly inside of the location when two unknown armed male suspects walked through the front door of the residence and fire multiple rounds at the victims, striking them both. After the shooting, the suspects fled. Officers responded and rendered aid to both victims before they were transported to the hospital by medics. Both victims were listed in critical condition. No description on suspects at this time. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. NON FATAL SHOOTING – Monroe and Gratiot
Preliminary on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020 between 2:30-3 a.m. a 21-year old male victim was allegedly walking in the area of Monroe and Gratiot, when he heard shots and felt the pain. He was then privately conveyed to a hospital where he was listed in stable condition. Unknown Suspect(s) at this time. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. NON-FATAL SHOOTING – 500 Block of Monroe
Preliminary on Aug. 30, 2020 at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Monroe (Parking Lot), the 26-year old male victim allegedly had exited a club and was walking in the parking lot when he heard shots then felt pain and realized he was shot. He was then privately conveyed to the Livonia Police Department and from there a hospital where he was listed in stable condition. Possible suspect was described as a black male, 5'-10", medium complexion, braids, wearing a black hoody, white shirt, possibly armed w/a shotgun. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. FATAL SHOOTING – 19800 block of Monte Vista
Preliminary on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020 at approximately 2:30 a.m. in a parking lot in the 19800 block of Monte Vista, a 58-year old female victim driver was found fatally shot inside of a 2000 Buick Le Sabre. The victim's vehicle had struck a parked car before coming to a rest. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics. Unknown suspect(s) at this time. Investigators are still investigating to determine what happened. NON-FATAL SHOOTING – Unknown Location
Preliminary on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2020 at approximately 1:05 a.m. the 21-year old female, a front seat passenger in a 2008 Honda Accord, along with the driver (male, unknown age), were allegedly traveling in an unknown area when someone fired several shots at their vehicle and she was struck. Scouts and medics responded to the area of Greenfield and Fenkell where the victim was transported to the hospital by medics and listed in temporary serious condition. Unknown suspect(s) at this time. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. DOUBLE NON FATAL SHOOTING – 32nd AND Herbert
Preliminary on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020 at approximately 10:25 p.m. in the area of 32nd and Herbert the victims (27 male, 20, female) were at a house party when they heard multiple shots being fired and they were struck. The 27-year old victim was privately conveyed to the hospital, the 20-year old victim was conveyed by medics. Both victims were listed in temporary serious condition. Unknown Suspect(s) at this time. Investigators are still working to determine the circumstances of this crime.
