Police are looking for three suspects who allegedly posed as Detroit police officers and robbed a man on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

According to preliminary information released by Detroit police, an 18-year-old black male said that at 5 p.m., he was pulled over by what he believed to be a police car.

Three armed black men got out of the vehicle and asked the victim for his license. One of the suspects walked back to the vehicle with the license, as the other two suspects ordered the victim to exit his 2015 Ford Fusion.

Two of the suspects searched the victim's car, then the suspect who took the license returned to the car and gave the victim back his license.

Police say one of the suspects thanked the victim for cooperating, then added that "If you had not, we would have taken you somewhere and beat you up."

Money totaling $55 was taken from the victim. The suspects returned to their vehicle, which is described as a black Dodge Charger with flashing grill lights and oscillating red, white and blue lights on the roof and spotlights on both sides of the car.

The suspects fled north on Ashton and East on West Seven Mile Road.

Two of the wanted suspects were described as black men wearing black baseball caps with gold embroidered shields, black shirts and black pants and were armed with sidearms. The third suspect is described as a black man wearing a black baseball cap with embroidered shield on the front, a black shirt, green cargo pants and was also armed with a sidearm.
