An officer with the Detroit Police Department is dead after suffering from a medical condition.
According to the police department, the officer was rushed to Sinai-Grace Hospital and died early Friday morning.
The officer was not on duty at the time. His fellow officers tell 7 Action News that he was with the eighth precinct and had been with the department for more than 15 years. A steady stream of colleagues has been arriving to the hospital this morning to pay their respects.
