Detroit police release video of suspects in DJ Slick B's murder

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police have released a short video of two suspects in connection to the shooting death of a celebrated local DJ.

The double shooting happened on the city's west side on Feb. 7 just before 7:30 p.m. in the10100 block of W. McNichols. Byron Gilbert, widely known DJ Slick B, was one of the victims.

Police say the two victims walked to a vehicle owned by one of them as it was parked on the corner of West McNichols and Ilene. When they approached the vehicle, two men came from inside the vehicle and fired shots striking both of the victims. DJ Slick B was killed, the second victim, a 25-year-old, was wounded.

Surveillance video shows the suspects entering the video prior to the deadly shooting.

The suspects robbed the victims and fled in a dark color SUV heading south on Ilene.

Police say it was originally reported that only one suspect was involved, but further investigation revealed there were two men involved in the shooting.
