DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police blocked off an entire neighborhood block for a shooting investigation early Friday morning.

On Jan. 17 around 2:25 a.m. in the 15800 block of Tracey, a 32-year-old male victim was with a 33-year old male witness when he got into a verbal dispute with a 47-year-old male suspect at the location, police say.

The victim then started to walk toward Puritan when the suspect followed him and fired shots, striking the 32-year-old male victim in the body, according to officers.

Police say the suspect then sped off southbound in a grey 2003 Buick Rendezvous.

7 Action News reporter Jennifer Ann Wilson confirmed that police are currently searching for the suspect.

There were about a dozen police cars on scene Friday morning, and officers were walking the block with long guns, according to a 7 Action News crew.
