DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police say a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed and a 20-year-old man was shot and hurt on the city's east side on Friday afternoon.
We're told the shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Conner St. and Christy St., which is south of McNichols.
Police say two people were detained for questioning at McNichols and Gunston, a few blocks away from the scene. They were taken to DPD headquarters for further questioning and investigation.
Sources tell 7 Action News that the 20-year-old man is in critical condition at the hospital.
Michigan State Police were also on scene to assist in the investigation.
