Detroit woman charged in connection with assault of pregnant woman in Burger King parking lot

DETROIT, Mich. (WXYZ) — A woman has been charged for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman in a Burger King parking lot in Dearborn Heights.

Ladonna Marie Boatwright, 37, was charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, two counts of felonious assault and assaulting a pregnant individual. Boatwright, of Detroit, turned herself Wednesday morning.

Dearborn Heights police responded to a fight in the parking lot on June 29. They saw a woman, who was eight months pregnant, being treated by medics. She was then transported to a hospital.

Video from the initial assault shows two women, one of whom was pregnant, in a verbal altercation with a woman driving an SUV. The two women repeatedly hit the driver, before she closed the door and strikes the pregnant woman on her right side.
