Back-to-school season has arrived, which means kids are getting equipped with backpacks, pens, notebooks--everything they need to shine in class.
But aside from the physical supplies, there are some helpful digital tools that can also get them ready to hit the books.
Detroit Country Day School Education Technology Manger Dean Haratsaris joined us in studio to go over some of the standouts.
--Quizlet: Study sets with flashcards and other tools aimed to help students improve grades. You can search the millions of study sets available or create your own.
--Reflex: If math is a trouble spot, you may want to check out Reflex. The application aims to make problem solving exciting. Haratsaris says his son used to set his alarm early to play Reflex before school. He says it's aimed at younger students.
--Kahoot: Users can create games to help with exam preparation. Videos, images and diagrams can also be added to make the visuals more fun. Teachers may use it in class to foster social learning.
Haratsaris says the number one app he recommends to students is Evernote. The app helps users create lists, take notes and save information from online sources.
