On Wednesday morning Troy Police sent out the warning on Twitter! They would have patrols hit the road looking for distracted drivers on Big Beaver.
It is something you should expect more of. An increasing number of police departments are getting grants funding crackdowns on distracted driving.
Police say often a driver will appear drunk. When they are pulled over police discover they are simply distracted by their phones or other technology. It is believed to be causing an increasing number of crashes.
Troy Police say they warned the public they would be doing this because their goal is to deter such behavior in the first place.
