On Wednesday, August 23, Dearborn Heights-based Vista Maria is hosting one of its signature events known as "Dolly Drive" where they collect hundreds of dolls and stuffed animals for the girls in residential treatment and foster care with them. The event will take place from 6-8 p.m. at the Royal Oak Music Theater.

Often the kids coming to Vista Maria arrive with only the clothes on their back, so one of the first things kids get to do upon arrival is select a doll or stuffed animal to keep. The Dolly Drive helps Vista Maria build up its collection of dolls and stuffed toys.

During the event, Vista Maria's President & CEO Angela Aufdemberge will share background on the 130-year old organization and the work it does to help heal girls who have been removed from their home due to abuse or neglect.

Vista Maria offers a wide range of support services to youth in need from foster care to residential treatment to programs to help girls who have been the victims of human trafficking. You can learn more by visiting https://www.vistamaria.org/
