AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) — A tree fell in the area of Juniper Avenue in Auburn Hills, causing a power line to fall onto a Buick Enclave. The car then caught fire, police say.

The incident happened just before 7 a.m. in the 200 block of Juniper Ave.

Auburn Hills police received a report on a vehicle fire. When officers arrived, they found a large tree that had fallen onto high voltage electrical lines. The electrical lines had subsequently fallen on a parked car.

Roads were blocked in the area and residents were asked to evacuate. The high voltage lines could not be extinguished by firefighters until DTE was able to shut off the power. The fire was then put out after power in the area was shut down.

Police say the fire did spread to another nearby car and a travel trailer, both were parked nearby.

There were no injuries and the power has since been restored to residents in the neighborhood.
