Dozens of schools across metro Detroit are closed after ice storms pounded the metro area overnight Saturday into Sunday and throughout Sunday morning.
The storms also left more than 290,000 people across the area without power.
Nearly 300,000 DTE Energy customers still have no power due to high winds and ice that hit Southeast Michigan early Sunday.
