Around 3:30 Sunday morning, Detroit police and fire departments responded to a house fire in a neighborhood between 7 and 8 mile near Hoover. Police confirm there was a suspicious fire inside a home on Teppert near Sturgis.

The only visible damage from the outside of the home is a broken window which could indicate a fire bombing. Arson Team investigators were on scene.

Police say one person was injured, but not from the fire. It is unknown how serious the injury is.

About the same time, 1 block away on Teppert near Manning, police responded to a call of shots fired. Officers say no one was on scene when they arrived so they are unsure if there are injuries. Bullet casings were found in the street and a parked car appears to have had the drivers side window shot out.

We'll update you on this developing story as more information becomes available.

This is an active investigation. Evidence techs and investigators are unsure if these incidents are connected or separate.
