A 42-year-old woman is critically injured after her car was struck by a speeding SUV on Detroit's west side, police say.

The crash occurred at Dexter and Davison early Monday.

Police say a Range Rover was heading westbound on Davison when it struck a Ford Fusion, which was making a turn from southbound Dexter to westbound Davison.

The Range Rover was traveling at speeds estimated to be near 100 miles per hour.

The woman driving the SUV, and a female passenger, were injured and taken to a hospital where they are both in temporary serious condition.

Police say they are investigating the crash.
