Drugs and weapons were seized from an adult assisted living home in Highland Township on August 2, according to a release from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

The Oakland County Narcotic Enforcement Team executed a search warrant in the 1200 block of Essay Lane after an investigation into the delivery of cocaine took place involving the owners of the home, who are also the managers of the adult care facility.

Upon entering, officers located 11.5 grams of cocaine, 14.7 grams of MDMA, 2,178 grams of marijuana, 36.5 grams of marijuana wax, 16 morphine pills, five firearms, packaging material associated with drug trafficking and cash inside the owners' bedroom.

Police say the patients in the home appeared to be in good health and there were no obvious signs of neglect.

Russell Steve Cockerham, a 48-year-old Highland Township resident, was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Deliver MDMA, Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana, Possession of Morphine, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and five counts of Felony Firearm.

“It is incredibly disturbing to find people charged with the care and custody of others to be in the drug
trafficking business,” said Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard. “We hope the state of Michigan takes license
action as we hold these individuals accountable for their criminal activity.”

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is looking for Angela Rose Cockerham, 45, who did not appear for a scheduled court appearance on Aug. 6.
