DTE Energy says 105,000 customers still have no power due to high winds and ice that hit southeast Michigan early Sunday.

As of 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, DTE says they have restored power to 255,000 customers. More than 390,000 customers were impacted.

The 105,000 customers is the number DTE released as of 4:00 p.m.

They expect 90 percent of customers impacted to have power restored by the end of the day Tuesday, along with most of the schools.

DTE will have over 1,000 workers in the field helping restore customers on Tuesday, with 600 more workers from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Tennesse.

The weight of ice on the power lines, coupled with high winds, caused more than 1,000 power lines to fall in Detroit and Wayne County, and hundreds more throughout the DTE service territory.

DTE says customers who do not have power now should not expect to have it restored tonight and should make the necessary arrangements to keep their families safe and warm.

Customers will receive a notification when crews have been dispatched to their area. By the end of the day Monday, all impacted customers should receive an estimate as to when their power will be restored.
