They’re a big name when it comes to vacuum cleaners, and now Dyson is taking aim at your hair.
The British technology company just revealed the Dyson Supersonic.
It’s a hair dryer—it just doesn’t really look like one, and that’s the point.
Dyson says they have rengineered the standard motor that most conventional dryers use.
The company’s concepts director says in a video their newly designed motor is eight times more powerful and half the weight. That allows for the unique design.
The motor’s power coupled with Dyson’s air flow technology creates the ability for users to dry their hair faster, according to the company. A heat control system is also in place to reportedly help prevent extreme damage to your locks.
This gadget, the company says, took more than 600 prototypes and over four years to develop.
But even though your hair may end up sleeker with the Supersonic, your wallet may get a little fried.
The dryer is now available for preorder for $399.
The shipments will start in September.
