A sophomore student at Eastern Michigan University was shot and killed at a party in Ohio.

He has been identified as 18-year-old, Jayquon Tillman, of Cleveland.

It happened early Saturday morning in Portage County, which is southeast of Cleveland.

Tillman belonged to the Delta Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and the Kings of Color Student organization at EMU.  He was also involved in Washtenaw County's My Brothers Keeper program as a member of its Young Brother's Leadership Council.

"It is with the deepest of sympathy that we mourn the death of Jayquon Tillman," said EMU President James Smith. "Our heartfelt thoughts go out to his family and friends at this time of grief and sorrow."

Police say a 20-year-old Columbus woman was also shot. She was treated at an Akron hospital and released.
