An email fraud scam is making its way to Bloomfield Township residents, police say.
On July 23 around 3 p.m., a neighbor reported a fraud complaint to the Bloomfield Township Police Department. The resident said they received an email about an overseas job opportunity. After communicating with the recruiter several times, the recruiter requested a $900 wire transfer to complete the application process.
After several failed attempts to send the money, the resident realized the job opportunity may have been a scam and stopped the process.
Anyone receiving a similar email or phone call asking for money for a job opportunity is asked to call Bloomfield Township Police at (248) 433-7755.
