DETROIT (WXYZ) — Highland Park police say one of their own, who was moonlighting as a bouncer, used his personal handgun during the incident at Views Bar & Grill in early March.

That officer is now on modified duty, pending the outcome of an investigation.

In the surveillance video, which first aired on Action News, you can see an off-duty Highland Park reserve police officer working security fire three gunshots into a moving vehicle with bar customers inside.

Moments earlier, an ugly brawl happened outside Views Bar & Grill on Grand River and Telegraph.

Highland Park Police Spokesman Marli Blackman says that in the wake of the March 8 incident, the reserve no longer patrols with a gun. He does, however, continue to do code enforcement work.

There is still no word on charges being filed against the reserve. HOever, the driver of the vehicle with customers inside was charged with felonious assault for nearly striking a bouncer.
