FAA proposing major airspace improvements in the Detroit area

The Federal Aviation Administration is announcing a proposal to improve air traffic procedures in the Detroit area.

The improvements are part of the FAA's efforts to make airspace more efficient and help reduce delays.

The FAA is working to modernize the National Airspace System though satellite-based navigation through NextGen.

NextGen is expected to deliver $147.4 billion in benefits nationwide through 2030.
