Chesterfield Township police say a woman driving a van struck and killed a 73-year-old man early Thursday morning.
Ronald Macfadyen was walking on 23 Mile near I-94 around 6 a.m. when he was hit by a 41-year-old woman driving a 2012 Chrysler mini-van, according to police.
Witnesses reported to police that Macfadyen was standing in the middle of the road when he was hit.
He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police say the woman who hit him called 911 after the incident and is cooperating with police.
