A father and his girlfriend are in police custody after a 3-year-old boy died in the hospital.
Inkster police say the child’s 41-year-old father and his 21-year-old girlfriend were arrested at the hospital.
The boy reportedly had injuries to his head and feet.
The father originally told police the three-year-old died after falling down the stairs.
Police are investigating as a possible abuse case.
An autopsy will likely happen on Friday.
