(WXYZ) — The FBI has charged a Redford woman in an alleged cold-blooded murder-for-hire plot.

Agents spent months tracking cell phone calls and even a secret meeting the woman had at a McDonald's on 5 Mile and Telegraph.

Neighbors confirmed a Facebook photo of 40-year-old Kersten Evans with 7 Action News. An agent with the Bureau's Violent Crime Task Force says Evans wanted to pay to have her husband by common law marriage killed. She allegedly wanted to collect on his $440,000 life insurance policy.

A confidential source she knew was allegedly asked to be a "middle man" to contract a hitman from Ohio. According to the FBI, the 63-year-old husband works in Southfield, and photos of him, his job and vehicle were texted to an undercover agent calling himself "Milton" -- with orders to commit murder.

Evans is now in federal custody.
