For the first time in 60 years, Woodward Ave. will feature streetcars, thanks to the new QLINE that's slated to open in the spring of 2017.

The first streetcar arrived in Detroit on Tuesday night, and is now sitting in the garage at the Penske Tech Center on Woodward.

The arrival of the streetcar comes two months ahead of schedule, an encouraging sign for hopes of the M-1 project to start running in a few months.

The M-1 Rail Line will stretch more than three miles along Woodward, connecting Downtown Detroit and Campus Martius, all the way up to the New Center area.

Expect to see the streetcars getting tested around town over the next few weeks.
