ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett has confirmed the first case of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in the city, and it's in a patient at a senior living facility.

The facility is located on the city's south side, however the mayor doesn't give a specific name.

"We must take this seriously and continue our vigilance here in Rochester Hills," Barnett said.

The mayor added that several residents at the facility are now in isolation and are working with all appropriate agencies.

"I will keep encouraging our community to wash our hands, practice social distancing and check on the elderly and those with underlying conditions," Barnett said. " We knew this was coming and we know there will be more."
