It seems that breweries are popping up left and right across the city of Detroit, and the national beer drinkers are beginning to take notice.

In an article fromFood & Wine magazine published on Wednesday, they called Detroit "America's Next Great Beer City."

"The city plays host to more than a dozen independent breweries, taprooms and beer-centric bars, and now, one of the nation’s most beloved beermakers, Founders, is opening up a satellite brewery, taproom and restaurant right in the middle of the action," they write.

Founders is the latest of a line of breweries opening in the city. Others include Eastern Market Brewing Co., to go with Batch Brewing, Atwater, Detroit Beer Company, Motor City Brewing Works, Jolly Pumpkin and more.

"Michigan’s largest municipality not only plays host to more than a dozen independent breweries, taprooms and beer-centric bars, with more on the way, but one of the nation’s most beloved beermakers is opening up a satellite brewery, taproom and restaurant right in the middle of the action," they wrote

On top of that, Food & Wine mentions South Cass welcoming a full-sized brewery that will go along with three brewing programs offered at Eastern Michigan University next year.
