Ford celebrated its 10 millionth Mustang Wednesday with a muscle car parade from its world headquarters in Dearborn to the Flat Rock Assembly Plant.

More than 50 Ford Mustang owners, along with employees celebrated the milestone at the assembly plant with music, food and a special flyover from three WWII-era P-52 Mustang fighter planes.

“Mustang is the best of Ford Motor Company. It delivers that sense of freedom we all want,” said Jim Farley, Ford President of global markets at the event Wednesday.

The 10 millionth Ford Mustang was also on display. It’s a 460 horsepower 2019 Wimbledon White GT V8 six-speed and was built at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant.

The first Ford Mustang rolled off a Michigan assembly line in 1964 and has been the best-selling sports car in America for the last 50 years.
