Darnell Earley, the former Emergency Manager for Flint and current Emergency Manager for Detroit Public Schools, has been called to testify next week before the US House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

The committee is looking into the situation in Flint and the Environmental Protection Agency's administration of the Safe Drinking Water Act in Flint.

Earley was EM when the decision was made to leave the Detroit water system and the city of Flint began taking water from the Flint river.

Also being called to testify are the EPA's Acting Deputy Assistant Administrator of the Office of Water Joel Beauvais, EPA Researcher Miguel Del Toral, Virginia Tech Professor of Environmental and Water Engineering Marc Edwards and Michigan's current Director of the Department of Environmental Quality Keith Creagh.

Creagh took over the DEQ when former DEQ Director Dan Wyant resigned in December.

The hearing will be held at the Rayburn House Office Building at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3.

There are 3 members of the Committee who are from Michigan, Democrat Brenda Lawrence and Republicans Tim Walberg and Justin Amash.

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder has not been called to testify before the committee at Wednesday's hearing. However, Rep. Lawrence and the ranking Democrat on the committee, Rep. Elijah Cummings, have sent a letter to him requesting documents relating to water crisis.
