William Strampel, Larry Nassar's former boss, has retired from Michigan State University amid sexual misconduct charges.

Strampel was the former dean of MSU's College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is accused of propositioning female medical students and had nude student selfies on his computer.

He will not receive emeritus status, an honor for retiring faculty.

Under an agreement, Strampel will not receive executive-level benefits. He will receive basic retiree health coverage.

"As I said before, Strampel has not acted with the level of professionalism expected of an MSU employee, particularly one holding an office with the responsibility of patient safety. His conduct and attitude were unacceptable and went against the values of this university," John Engler said. "While completing the tenure revocation process would have been highly satisfying, his immediate retirement means we have achieved the same goal-the end of the relationship between Strampel and MSU."

Also, as part of the retirement agreement, Strampel will receive $175,000.

Strampel was head of a clinic that employed Larry Nassar, an MSU sports doctor who will spend the rest of his life in prison for molesting dozens of gymnasts and possessing child pornography.
