ROCHESTER, Mich. (WXYZ) — A former Rochester High School special ed teacher accused of having sex with students posted her $200,000 cash bond Friday evening.

According to the Oakland County Jail website, 27-year-old Kathryn Houghtaling was booked into and released from the facility on Jan. 11.

Oakland County prosecutors charged Houghtaling with six counts of criminal sexual conduct. One of the alleged assaults is said to have occurred in a car; the other, in an apartment.

She was arraigned on those charges Friday in Rochester and given a $200,000 cash surety bond with no 10 percent.

According to deputies, the incidents happened in November and December 2018 outside of the school. They say Houghtaling also drank alcohol with the students and smoked marijuana with them outside of school hours.

Deputies say multiple students were interviewed about their sexual contact with Houghtaling.
