Four Sears and Kmart stores in Michigan will be closing after Sears filed for bankruptcy.

Including the four in Michigan, 142 stores will close before the end of the year, with liquidation sales beginning immediately.

The Sears stores closing in Michigan are:

  • 2100 Southfield Rd., Lincoln Park, MI
  • 900 Briarwood Cir. Ann Arbor, MI

The Kmart stores closing are:

  • 06600 M-66 North, Charlevoix, MI
  • 1025 M-24 Lake Orion, MI

The 132-year-old company has been struggling for several years and is drowning in debt. The final straw was a $134 million debt payment due Monday that it could not afford.
