Fox News Founder, former CEO Roger Ailes dies, reports say

Fox News Founder and former CEO Roger Ailes has died, according to multiple reports. he was 77.

Ailes founded Fox News in 1996 and had served as the network's CEO throughout history until he left the network in July 2016 amid sexual harassment claims.

Shortly before he left the network, Fox News host Gretchen Carlson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit. A number of other correspondents supported her claims. 

Drudge Report was the first to report news of Ailes' death.

A statement from Ailes' wife to Fox News said:

I am profoundly sad and heartbroken to report that my husband, Roger Ailes, passed away this morning. Roger was a loving husband to me, to his son Zachary, and a loyal friend to many. He was also a patriot, profoundly grateful to live in a country that gave him so much opportunity to work hard, to rise—and to give back. During a career that stretched over more than five decades, his work in entertainment, in politics, and in news affected the lives of many millions. And so even as we mourn his death, we celebrate his life...
